Cards from the UJP

There were two cards from the Ultimate Jumbo Packs that I wasn't familiar with.  The Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards has this entry:

1986-88 World Wide Sports Conlon Collection
Marketed as complete series through World Wide Sports, five sets of black-and-white cards featuring the game’s great players of the 1905-1935 era were made utilizing the photos of Charles Martin Conlon. The 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" cards carry the copyright of “The Sporting News,” owner of the Conlon photos. The 60 cards of Series one each feature a Babe Ruth logo in the lower-left corner, the only graphic on the borderless card front. Series two has no front logo. Series 3-5 have a sliding Ty Cobb logo. Backs feature a line of career stats, a few bits of biographical data and a para-graph of highlights written by TSN historian Paul MacFarlane. The first two series were produced in an edition of 12,000 sets each; production of the other series was not announced. Cards in Series 3-5 are not numbered and are checklisted here alphabetically. Series designations are in small print at back-bottom.
1986 World Wide Sports Conlon Collection
Series 1
Rube Waddell (card # 35)

World Wide Sports Conlon Collection
Series 1
Charlie Gehringer (card # 43)

They're nice enough, with a bit of sepia rather than the black and white I associate with the Conlon cards.  I thought for a fleeting moment of trying to collect the set and then I came to my senses.  I have other collecting goals at the moment.  I don't need to start a new one.
