Babe Waxpak

Back in the late 1980s, when the hobby was bursting out, a still voice in the wilderness provided collectors answers. Here's a column that I found today while perusing the Northern New York Library Network's digital newspaper collection.

Press-Republican - March 10, 1991

That last paragraph?  At least part of it is still true today.  Babe is a feature of The Record Searchlight in Redding, Calif.

  1. 1981 Fleer is ugly???

    Never noticing the Fernand error???

    Who is this hack?

And I think Mrs. Hook-Nose Hawkeye sold off the Mantle, Mays, Clemente and retired to Cabo long ago. Weren't teachers supposed to give back their confiscated items at the end of the year?

  2. That Marian Kurz of Donruss went on to produce the Willie's Wildcat Cookbook which probably has more value than any of the cards mentioned in the article.
